The Window-pane fixture is a modular LED light that can be grouped into many different configurations. When ganged together all the fixtures are controlled by a single switch. The fixture is designed to provide the quality of natural light coming through a window opening. The LED's would emit a light in the same color range as sunlight.

The Umbra fixture is a film applied to the outside of existing window glazing. The film absorbs a portion of the energy falling on the window area, screening the interior from excessive solar energy. At night, that energy is released by powering an array of tiny LEDs. The Umbra fixture uses no energy other than that from the sun. There are no switches or plugs. There is nothing to manufacture, consume, or install, other than the film that is applied to the window. Windows traditionally provide light by day, and furnishings are typically oriented around this light. The windows become useless, or worse, at night, when they become cold black mirrors. The Umbra fixture uses the window to provide light at night. Since furnishings are already oriented around the window placement, this light is ideally placed.
